Wastewater Operator - Certification/License Required
The Plant Wastewater Operators are responsible for all daily operations of the 10 MGD Fixed Film Skim Anaerobic Digestion Treatment. They must be able to work in a variety of environments, problem-solve, and operate a variety of equipment. Work will vary day-to-day depending upon the needs of the wastewater operations. The operator must be self-motivated; able to complete jobs in a timely and safe manner; and must be able to work productively with other employees.
o Oversee and ensure the efficient operation of the anerobic digester
o Ensure the processing of grit, grease, sludge removal, lab testing and some landscaping and other plant maintenance
o Assist the maintenance department mechanics, when needed
o Prepare/maintain necessary records of Wastewater operating activities
o Plan, develop, install, and maintain with the highest degree of skill and proficiency, Wastewater equipment and facilities
o Restart equipment in the event of power outages.
o Shutdown and Restart equipment in the event of an energy curtailment.
o High school diploma or GED
o Meet requirements for and/or possess a current Ohio Class I Wastewater Treatment - Professional Operator Certification , with a thorough understanding of company and state code regulations. Class II or III preferred.
o Typical Manufacturing Environment
o Usual noise level in the work environment is 79-94 db.
o Frequent walking required
o Moderate physical lifting required
o Must be able to climb stairs or ladders
o Must be able to drive a cart or tow motor
o The employee must be able to work in excessive temperatures.
o Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, earplugs, gloves & safety harness.
o Employee will be required to complete additional training as directed by the company.
o Minimum travel required
Note: Operator will float to whatever shift needs coverage. Also, must be able to work OT and weekends as required.
